I digitally brought to life a sketch featuring our live model, Al, transformed into a merman leisurely scrolling on his phone at the beach. With canvas as my mentality  for virtual medium, I layered colors, adopting a deliberate approach by confining myself to just three layers. This constraint proved liberating, shifting my mindset to one of creative fluidity, where imperfections became opportunities for enhancement rather than hindrances.

Early into the process, I recognized that the initial pose failed to convey the narrative essence I sought, and anatomical inconsistencies became impossible to ignore. To rectify these challenges, I took a reference photo of myself in the pose, and created a mental story for the characters motivations. This proved to be invaluable and then through feedback from fellow artists, this artwork evolved shaping into one of my most compelling digital painting
